Are Carbohydrates in Acai Juice Good For Weight Loss?

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

AcaiWow gives a great overview of simple vs. complex carbohydrates, their effects, and importance in the body.  Most people don’t think of berries such as acai as carbs, however all berries are considered simple carbohydrates.  This doesn’t mean they are bad, but should, like all carbs, be consumed in moderation.  In addition, they should be eaten as close to their whole state as possible.  While you may not be able to access freshly picked acai berries, pure acai juice is the next best thing in terms of nutrients.

Here’s an excerpt:

“Simple carbs are best included in your nutritional regime in their natural form. Whole fruit is superior to juices because the whole fruit also comprises fiber and other nutrients that are deleted during the juicing process. Nonetheless, juices can be wholesome in moderation and since the acai berry can only be found in processed states outside of Brazil, acai berry juice is specially wholesome when consumed in moderation.”
