When buying Acai products, you should not focus your energy in finding out if the products actually contain Acai but you should make sure that the product is pure and not an imitation.

Many Acai shakes, powders, and supplements mislead buyers by using a bunch of flavorings, a very small percentage of Acai extract, and a combination of other fruit juices in their product formulas. In the end, you, the consumer, will pay for products that are not even true Acai Berry.

How to know if a product is pure Acai Berry:

-Check the marketing label. Usually, 100% Acai supplements will label their products “from pure Acai Extract”or “100% Acai”. Trade and Consumer laws bar manufacturers from putting misleading labels on their products.

-Check the ingredients. Most impure products will have a long list of other ingredients aside from Acai Extract. For example, many Acai Juice products will contain other fruit juices such as mango puree, apple juice, and grapefruit juice.

-Check the product’s country of origin. Acai Berry is naturally and organically grown in the Amazon rainforest. It only makes sense that this berry should be manufactured in Brazil. Many fake and imitation Acai products are labeled “Made in China”. These Chinese-made products are either fake or are lacking the necessary nutrients of this little wonder berry.

So can I get pure acai in the USA?
You cannot get pure Acai at your local stores if you live in the USA. However, there are a few reliable websites that can ship Pure Acai to your doorstep. You can order pure acai in pulp form, which means it has been frozen after being picked. Problems arise such as keeping it frozen whilst delivering it to your doorstep. Eventually you will be able to buy it in the freezer section of your local supermarket, but you may have to wait a little longer for that to happen.
